Corporate Partner Spotlight: Brown & Brown Joins MFS to Support Hunger Relief

At MFS, we believe that communities thrive when neighbors look out for one another—and when local businesses step forward to help meet real needs. This Thanksgiving season, our MFS Hunger Relief team felt that support in a big way.

150 Thanksgiving food bags—assembled with care

Our friends at Brown & Brown Insurance joined a group of our regular Hunger Relief volunteers to help assemble 150 Thanksgiving food bags for school families across the Portland metro area. These bags included pantry staples, fresh items, and holiday ingredients that help families stretch their budgets during a high-cost time of year.

The Brown & Brown team brought enthusiasm, teamwork, and a genuine spirit of giving. For many families, these bags meant being able to prepare a holiday meal at home—something that adds joy, stability, and a sense of belonging.

Why it matters

Across our six school-based food pantries and weekly Free Food Market, MFS Hunger Relief provides fresh produce, culturally meaningful staples, and prepared-meal ingredients to hundreds of families each week. Rising food costs and economic stress mean more families are turning to community partners like MFS—and we can only meet that need with the help of volunteers and corporate partners.

Partnerships like the one with Brown & Brown strengthen the safety net for families who are working hard, caring for children, and striving to stay healthy and stable.

Thank you, Brown & Brown

We are grateful for Brown & Brown’s hands-on support, their willingness to jump in, and their care for the community. We look forward to continuing this partnership and building more opportunities to nourish families—together.
